...some things about GSE Executive Search
We've been around for over twenty years. Originally, we were based in Pall Mall, we were very research-intensive, and virtually all of our work was in the motor industry. And I had a bit more hair.
A lot of things have changed. We moved to the Midlands, the better to support what has always been the heart of our business, the engineering / manufacturing sector. Our client base got broader, and our focus increasingly on that band of jobs at Director and one level down from that – the people key to making the difference.
The internet changed our world, too. Almost all we do now is web-advert based, with gratifying reductions in both costs and timescales. And those adverts are different, a bit quirky, and most of all, they’re effective.
What hasn't changed is my central belief that 'chemistry' is at least as important as the words on a CV. And every assignment is done from scratch - we don't use databases - so all our candidates are interested in, and interviewed for, just your requirements. Not as common as you might care to think.
Another thing is our fee structure. It's heavily success-based, so if we don't get it right, we don't make any money, which seems only fair. So we make sure we do get it right.
